Emotion: Startled/ Anger

"O RLY!?" This is the Great North American Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus). Not only is it the American National Symbol but its also a threatened Species (except in Alaska). Molting is the periodic replacement of feathers by shedding old feathers while producing new ones. Fun fact: Bald Eagle mate for life and will only select another mate if their mate should die. Taken at the Memphis Zoo on 8-17-11.
